This week, our income tax receipts are available. I would like to thank you for your deep generosity toward our parish. So many wonderful things are happening here. I want to remind you that our purpose is not merely to organize fun activities, but to bring people closer to Christ and to experience the real peace and joy that comes from being His disciple. That's why I'm so excited about the small group campaign that begins the first week of Lent. It's not too late to sign up, and the book we are using is all about discipleship: "Rebuilt Faith - A Manual for Skeptical Catholics." If you haven't signed up yet, please do so either on the sign-up sheets in the Vision Cafe or by reaching out to me or the parish directly. Groups are limited to 6-8 people, including the host, and will meet once a week during Lent (the last group will meet the week before Holy Week). Groups will meet at a time and place determined by your host. I believe this, more than anything else we are doing or have done, will be highly transformative for our parish and our parishioners.
I would also like to mention that we are moving our Tuesday evening adoration from 5-6 PM to 7-8 PM, which will include confessions. I hope you can join us! We also have a "small group prayer team" that will provide many prayers and devotions for our small group initiative. These will start with a special adoration on Tuesday, February 25th, at the 7:00 PM adoration.
Finally, we are still working on our parish financial report, but it is not ready yet. We hope to have it prepared in March, so our parish finance committee meeting scheduled for February 19th will be rescheduled (I like to share the financial report with our finance committee before publishing it). My goal this year is to provide solid financial information in support of your incredible and greatly appreciated generosity.
Happy Family Day Weekend! Wishing you and yours all the best.
Fr. Paul
