St. Alexander Women's Group
Current Update - February 28, 2025
Group meeting date change. We got ourselves a little confused about when the Small Groups were beginning, thinking they were starting AFTER Ash Wednesday, not catching that the first meetings would be happening this coming Monday, March 3rd. So, there will NOT be a Heart to Heart meeting this coming Monday (the 3rd) as was previously stated. I apologize whole heartedly for the confusion. We will not be meeting again until after Easter — date to be decided upon and announced.
We trust that the Lord and His Blessed Mother will continue to move and work in our hearts and minds during this most Holy season of penance, fasting, and meditation. Please keep us all in your prayers. The Lord is working in a beautiful way. It’s been a tremendous gift to be with you all on this journey with Our Lady so far and I’m so very much looking forward to being with you all again. Maybe the green things will be in bloom by the time we meet again!!

PAST UPDATES
The next meeting for the Heart to Heart woman’s group will be this coming Monday, February 24th at 7pm, or Wednesday, February 26th at 9:30 am.
Monday, March 3rd at 10am, or 7pm, will be our last gathering before the Lenten break and the commencement of the Small Groups.
We will then resume the Heart to Heart gatherings after Easter. The date is yet to be determined, but we will, of course, make sure you are aware ahead of time.
Please pray for cooperative weather, good health, and a clear path for all to be able to attend. So looking forward to being with you all.

I hope everyone has had a peaceful and blessed week thus far. Our next meeting will be this coming Monday, February 3rd, at 7pm in the Vision Cafe, or Wednesday, February 5th at 9:30 am.
I thought I would take a moment to explain for anyone who may have missed the explanation as to why we have had to readjust our initial schedule intention of meeting every three weeks. We wanted to complete the program in May, being both the month of Mary, but also so as to not ask an onerous time commitment over the course of the year. However, Fr. Paul has asked all other ministries and groups to pause to enable the Parish as a whole to focus on the Small Groups Campaign during Lent. This required some re jigging of the schedule. If you have not heard of the Small Groups Campaign and are curious and would like to know more, there is information on the Parish website. Also, a few members of our Hearts to Hearts group are involved with leading a small group and I am confident would be more than willing to answer any questions you may have. We certainly encourage everyone to prayerful consider participating if you feel so called to do so.
I am also including files containing the prayers Angelina led us in in the Church during past meetings. I will include all future ones in emails moving forward as requested.
And, lastly, please continue to keep one another, our families and loved ones in our prayers, offering up the trials, daily duties, and particular challenges that come our way for one another’s edification and blessing. Keep, especially, Donna in our hearts that the Lord would grant her, if it be His will, miraculous healing of mind, heart, and body.

BREAK FOR LENT

Due to the change we had to make to our meeting date at the beginning of January, our next meeting comes a week sooner than usual.
We will be meeting this coming Monday, January 27th, at 7pm (or Wednesday, January 29th) in the Vision Cafe. We have a lovely evening with additional time for prayer in the Church planned to compliment this weeks virtue: Constant Mental Prayer. Please pray for protection for us all and our families. If there is one thing the enemy does not like it is prayer — our source of connection to God’s love and will for us in our lives.
We look forward, always, to being together. A little haven of warmth and peace during the coldness and darkness of the Canadian winter months and the busyness of daily life.

Happy New Year! I hope your Christmas festivities were filled with joy and peace. Four more days of Christmas feasting to go!! Why is it harder to feast than to fast? Lol. It takes great endurance to be people of Joy!!
We have to change the date for the next meeting of the Hearts to Hearts women’s group. There was conflict in the scheduling. Fr. Paul is holding an information session for the Lenten Small Groups on Monday, January 6th at 7pm in the Vision Cafe. We want everyone who is involved, or would like to be, the opportunity to attend the meeting so we are re scheduling our women’s group session to the following Monday, January 13th, at 7pm in the Vision Cafe.
Thank you again to Mariela and Maureen for volunteering to bring in something for our snack. It’s much appreciated.

Just a quick reminder, our next meeting is this Wednesday at 9:30, and we will be exploring Week three: Ardent Charity

A reminder that the next meeting for our Hearts to Hearts group will be this coming Monday, December 2nd, 7pm, at St. Alexander’s Parish, in the Vision Cafe.
We have received approximately 10 more books (as of this email being sent out) available for anyone wishing to purchase one who has not done so already. The cost is $50. We will review the pricing at the opening of the meeting.
This week we will be exploring Week three: Ardent Charity, from the program book. Those who do have a copy, please do go ahead, if you have not already, and read the chapter in preparation for our time together. Those who do not yet have a copy, the scripture this weeks virtue is centred around is Luke 1:39-45, which highlights how Mary put the needs of others before her own, even when she was pregnant and in what must surely have been a time of great uncertainty of what was to come for herself, Joseph, her parents, her community, God’s chosen people, and even the world at large. Her first thought and action was to serve God and to share His presence with her beloved cousin.
For some housekeeping, we are asking for 2 volunteers per session to bring a snack for refreshment. Coffee and tea will be supplied by the parish. If you would like to volunteer for this upcoming session, please message me at (289) 407-2938 and thank you in advance.
We are so looking forward to being with you all again. I, personally, have felt the spirit moving and our Lady’s presence in a new way and I suspect I am far from alone in that. We continue to pray for protection over all of us and our loved ones as we carry forth on this journey with our Blessed Mother. Have a wonderful end to this week and we shall see you on Monday!!
